‘DRPH: Slaysian Royale’ crowns Brigiding as 1st drag superstar of all-Asian competition
The first edition of “Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale” has officially come to an end, and Brigiding has been hailed as the first Slaysian Royale Drag Superstar.
In the highly anticipated finale, Brigiding emerged victorious after a fierce lip sync for the crown battle against Viñas DeLuxe to the song “Born to Do Drag” by Marina Summers.
“I am so grateful and happy to be sharing this moment with my very good sister, who’s also inspiring, who’s also loving, and honest and true,” Brigiding said.
“I am so happy and grateful that I get to share the same experience with Brigiding. Win namin ‘tong pareho,” Viñas added.
Brigiding and Viñas are part of the drag trio Divine Divas together with Precious Paula Nicole, the first Drag Superstar of “Drag Race Philippines."
Brigiding took home a grand prize of P2 million, a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and a spot in the Slaysian Royale Hall of Fame.
From the start, she was among the season’s frontrunners, earning three RuBadges in the episodes “Homecoming Queen,” “Lip Sync Lalaparuza Smackdown,” and “High Time.”
She first competed in “Drag Race Philippines” Season 1, where she finished in sixth place.
“Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale” is a new “Drag Race” format where Filipino drag artists compete with other Asian queens for the crown across the series franchise for the crown.
