More than 50,000 individuals who have been affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu and the  7.4-magnitude and 6.8-magnitude double earthquakes in Davao Oriental have received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation through its Operation Bayanihan project.

According to "24 Oras" Friday, among those affected by the quakes was Donavie Saladaga of Tabogon, Cebu, who sustained an injury after getting trapped under her bed when the wall of her home collapsed.

"Maraming memories 'yung bahay namin t'as sa isang lindol lang nasira. 'Yung bahay, mapapalitan pa pero 'yung buhay ng isang tao, hindi na," she said.

Jovelyn Jorquia, a barangay health worker from Sogod, Cebu, was not spared by the earthquake either, yet she continues to help the people in her community despite her situation.

"Ganito na sitwasyon, nasa barangay kami tumutulong. Lahat ginagawa namin para sa aming mga kapitbahay," she said.
