'Quezon' hints at possible next film in post-credits scene
Are we getting a Panguloverse next from director Jerrold Tarog?
"Quezon," the final film of his "Bayaniverse" trilogy, has premiered in cinemas nationwide and gave us a glimpse of a possible next project from the acclaimed filmmaker.
In the film's post-credits scene, a radio can be heard playing "Mambo... Mambo... Magsaysay," the 1953 campaign jingle of former president Ramon Magsaysay.
Magsaysay was the seventh President of the Philippines and was known as the "Champion of the Common Man." Admired for his integrity and leadership, he focused on clean governance and rural development before his untimely death in a 1957 plane crash.
Meanwhile, "Quezon" follows "Heneral Luna" and "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" in the Bayaniverse trilogy.
It follows the life of Manuel L. Quezon (Jericho Rosales) a lawyer and a soldier who became the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. The film highlights his tumultuous presidential campaign against Emilio Aguinaldo (Mon Confiado).
Aside from Jericho, the film also stars Benjamin Alves, Romnick Sarmenta, Iain Glen, Cris Villanueva, Arron Villaflor, and Karylle among others.
"Quezon" is currently showing in over 200 theatres nationwide. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
