1,000 families affected by Tino in Talisay, Cebu receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation
A total of 1,000 families in Talisay, Cebu who were affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Tino have received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to "24 Oras" Thursday, Sitio Isla Verde in Barangay San Isidro was among the areas hit hard by the typhoon and was left covered in mud after experiencing great flooding.
"When the volume of water was too much to carry na sa dam, bumigay 'yung [artificial] damming natin. A large volume of water went down, that's why si Isla Verde was one of the sitios na hard-hit talaga ng flooding," said Alvin Rosthelo Santillana of the Talisay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Many residents are now staying in an evacuation center after their homes were destroyed by the typhoon. Among them are Ellen Basco and her family, whose belongings were swept away by the flood.
"Paano kami magsimula muli? Kasi wala kaming pera, [ang] hirap," said Basco. "Lahat kami hirap ngayon. Nanghingi lang ako sa mga kamag-anak ko para may makain ang pamilya ko."
The GMA Kapuso Foundation, under its Operation Bayanihan project, headed to Brgy. San Isidro to bring aid to those affected by Tino, distributing food packs to a total of 1,000 families.
The foundation has also started distributing aid to affected residents in Silago, Southern Leyte.

"Ngunit kailanman hindi nawawala ang malasakit ng bawat Pilipino, kaya sa tulong ng Kapuso Foundation, makakarating po ang inyong donasyon sa mga pinaka-nangangailangan mula sa relief goods hanggang sa pagtulong sa kanilang muling pagbangon."
