'Hana Kimi' anime adaptation trailer gives look at characters, YOASOBI theme songs

The upcoming anime adaptation of "Hana Kimi" has released its first trailer, giving viewers a first look at the characters and a glimpse into their everyday lives.

The two-minute and 34-second video introduces the main cast and features snippets of dialogue, offering a preview of the series' tone and animation style.

The trailer also reveals that the opening theme, "Adrena," and ending theme, "Baby," are both performed by YOASOBI, with lyrics and composition by Ayase.

Based on Hisaya Nakajo's manga published by Hakusensha, the series will premiere on January 4, 2026, across multiple Japanese networks. It is directed by Natsuki Takemura.

"Hana Kimi" is based on the Japanese manga "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e" created by the late Hisaya Nakajo, which ran from 1996 to 2004 in Hana to Yume magazine.

It was adapted into a Taiwanese live action series in 2006 and a Japanese live action series in 2007.

The story follows teenage girl Mizuki, who disguises herself as male and enrolls in an all-boys school to get close to her idol, athlete Izumi.
