Nic Chien posts shirtless pic after top surgery
Nic Chien, the son of Lea Salonga, revealed that he has undergone top surgery.
On Instagram, Nic shared a shirtless photo of himself to show the results of the procedure done in September.
He said the healing process was brutal but it was worth it, and he waited until he could finally post a picture.
"On a more serious note, it’s done wonders for my gender dysphoria and overall mental health. Not having to wear a binder, be afraid of judgment, and being able to be shirtless has been one of the most gratifying things ever," Nic said.
"I'm very grateful to be able to receive gender affirming care, and I hope sharing and talking about my experiences helps show the importance of this kind of stuff. Happy trans gender awareness week, everyone!" he added.
He also thanked his parents, Lea and Robert Chien.
"P.S wouldn’t have been able to do all of this without parents support, love you," he said.
Earlier this year, Nic and Lea opened up on his transition journey in an interview with a magazine. He said he knew he was trans at age 14 and began taking testosterone in January.
Nic, who made his theater debut in 2017, joined Lea in the Philippine staging of "Into the Woods."
