GMA Public Affairs drops poster of '58th,' a film about the Maguindanao massacre
GMA Public Affairs just released the poster of "58th," a film about the Maguindanao massacre.
The poster featured an excavator against a red background, digging into a mound of earth beneath where bodies are stacked—a direct reference to the mass burial site of the massacre.
According to the post, the film will follow the story of Reynafe Castillo, the daughter of the photojournalist Bebot Momay, as she continues her long fight for justice.
"It has been 16 years since the Maguindanao Massacre, the deadliest attack on journalists in history. Fifty-seven individuals, including 32 journalists, lost their lives," the caption read.
"Yet for Reynafe Castillo, daughter of photojournalist Reynaldo 'Bebot' Momay, the story has never felt complete. With her father's body never recovered, she continues her long fight for answers and for his recognition as the tragedy's 58th victim," it added.
The film stars Glaiza de Castro as Reynafe and the late Ricky Davao as Bebot.
"58th" is directed by award-winning director Carl Joseph Papa.
