GMA Network wins gold at 2nd AmCham Corporate Social Impact Awards

GMA Network won gold under the Disaster Response and Emergency Relief category at the second AmCham Corporate Social Impact (CSI) Awards organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham Philippines).

According to "24 Oras" on Tuesday, the gold award was in recognition of the GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan's relief efforts for those affected by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in the Bicol Region in 2024.

With the help of partners, donors, and volunteers, the Kapuso Foundation was able to distribute food packs, clean water, and essential supplies to thousands of beneficiaries in the region.

"We're really very happy that we were cited by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines for our holistic campaign attending to the needs of the beneficiaries for Super Typhoon Kristine, which is one of the worst calamities that hit Bicolandia and the southern Tagalog region in 2024," said GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP & COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog.

Per Escudero-Catibog, the holistic campaign covered various aspects, such as news coverage, as well as fundraising and relief efforts.

"[It] is composed of the news coverage of GMA Integrated News, the fundraising efforts of GMA Network via the telephone and participated in by our stars, and,of course the Operation Bayanihan, which are relief efforts by GMA Kapuso Foundation," she shared.

The 2nd AmCham CSI Awards was held on November 19 in Makati City. It honored exemplary CSR initiatives led by member companies that contribute to sustainable, inclusive, and community-centered development across the Philippines.
