Over 16k residents affected by Uwan in Aurora receive food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Over 16,000 residents who were affected by Super Typhoon Uwan in Aurora have received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to "24 Oras" Wednesday, the Kapuso Foundation distributed food packs to a total of 16,800 individuals in the province through its Operation Bayanihan project.

Among those affected by Uwan were Pauline Joy Nolasco and her family of Dilasag, whose house was buried in sand after a storm surge swept through their community.

Their family is currently staying with relatives while Pauline's husband, Noli, slowly rebuilds their home.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation also headed to Dingalan, Aurora, to inspect the Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran hanging bridge in the area.

According to Kapuso Foundation Supervising Engineer Arnel Zantua, the hanging bridge did not suffer from any major damage and was able to withstand Uwan's onslaught.

"Other than that, talagang matibay pa rin naman 'yung tulay.

Edwin Turla, a resident in Dingalan, also shared, "Hindi kami makakatawid diyan sa tubig, sa ilog, kasi malaki.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
