2 more Kapuso classrooms inaugurated at Bohol elementary school
The GMA Kapuso Foundation has inaugurated two more Kapuso classrooms in Ubay, Bohol, this time at Ubay III Central Elementary School.
According to "24 Oras" Tuesday, students have endured learning in temporary shelters after Super Typhoon Odette devastated their school in 2021.
Elizabeth Geslaga, a single mother of seven, has two children who study at the elementary school. They were among the many students who were affected when the typhoon ravaged their classrooms.
In the typhoon's aftermath, parents, barangay officials, and other community members banded together to ensure the construction of the Kapuso classrooms with the help of the Kapuso Foundation.
The new classrooms are now ready for use just in time for Christmas.
"'Yung ating Kapuso-type school building ito ay standard size classrooms ng [Department of Education], 7 by 9 meters siya, ito ay tinatawag na concrete infill so 'yung wall natin binuhusan natin," said Kapuso Foundation supervising engineer Arnel Zantua
Each classroom has a comfort room, a handwashing facility, and a foot washing station.
The Kapuso Foundation also donated a new smart TV to the school.
Previously, the foundation inaugurated two Kapuso classrooms at Bulilis Elementary School in Ubay, Bohol.
