GMA Kapuso Foundation holds tree planting activity in Ubay, Bohol

The GMA Kapuso Foundation conducted a tree planting activity in Ubay, Bohol, alongside its construction of four Kapuso classrooms in the municipality.

According to "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the Kapuso Foundation plants trees through its Kapuso ng Kalikasan project whenever it builds Kapuso classrooms and Kapuso Tuloy para sa Kaunlaran bridges in communities.

The foundation held seminars for students and parents to teach them the importance of planting and a clean environment.

Among those who participated in the event was Jojack Bunsilig, a father.

"Mahalaga talaga yung pagtatanim para sa Inang Bayan at sa Kalikasan para din sa kinabukasan ng aking anak, mga apo," he said.

Emelita Butlig, a mother, also shared that she would often plant vegetables, which she prepares and serves to her family.

A total of 400 fruit-bearing trees were also planted by the parents in Barangay Bulilis and Barangay San Pascual.

"Dito sa atin, napakaraming kalamidad na nangyayari so kumbaga ito ay handog natin. Ibalik natin sa kalikasan, palitan ang lahat ng mga naputol na puno," said Kapuso Foundation social worker Rose Cordero.

Previously, the Kapuso Foundation had inaugurated four Kapuso classrooms at the Bulilis Elementary School and Ubay III Central Elementary School. The newly built classrooms include comfort rooms, handwashing facilities, and foot washing stations.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
