Korean stars Kim Myung Soo, Choi Bo Min named PH tourism ambassadors

Korean stars Kim Myung Soo and Choi Bo Min have been appointed as the newest Philippine tourism ambassadors for South Korea by the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines.

During the announcement of their ambassadorship on December 14, the Korean stars wore custom Barong Tagalog by Avel Bacudio, which features embroidery inspired by Filipino icons, including jeepneys, street vendors, and the bahay kubo.

A member of the K-pop group Infinite, Myung Soo has visited the Philippines for concerts and fan events.

Meanwhile, Bo Min has also developed ties to the country after spending four months in the Philippines while working on the local series "Beauty Empire."

As Philippine tourism ambassadors, Myung Soo and Bo Min will take part in destination tours, digital campaigns, and promotional events to showcase the Philippines to Korean travelers.

Aside from the two, other celebrities named Philippine tourism ambassadors include Michelle Dee, Seo In Guk, and Vanessa Hudgens. —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA Integrated News
