Eating 12 grapes under the table to attract love? Feng Shui expert weighs in

Eating 12 grapes under the table to attract love has become a tradition for ringing in the New Year, with celebrities like Bretman Rock and Kathryn Bernardo joining the trend in the past.

According to tradition, finishing 12 grapes in the first minute of the year is believed to bring good fortune in the year ahead.

However, according to Feng Shui expert Johnson Chua, this practice has no historical basis in Feng Shui.

“Most likely parang basic ritual lang siya, pero wala kasing ganun talaga na practice,” Johnson said.

“Sabi ng iba wala naman daw mawawala [kung gagawin nila], but basically wala pong ganun na practice,” he added.

According to Johnson, Feng Shui focuses more on “symbolism” and attracting “good symbols.”

“In short, huwag po natin iasa ang love life natin sa ubas,” he said.

Earlier, Johnson said that 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, a year characterized by passion and determination.

When it comes to lucky Zodiac signs, Johnson said the friends of the Horse are in luck this year: Rabbit, Goat, Ox, Dragon, and Dog.

When it comes to love, the lucky Zodiac signs are Rabbit, Goat, Dog, Tiger, and Rooster.

Meanwhile, those born in the years of the Pig, Dog, Rat, Horse, Rooster, and Snake should be careful about their health.

Just a friendly reminder, though: these are just guides, and our true fate will still depend on the actions and decisions we make in our lives. —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
