Benedict Cua joins '12 grapes under the table' trend
Benedict Cua welcomed 2026 by joining the trend of eating "12 grapes under the table" to attract good luck.
On Instagram, the single dad shared a video of himself celebrating New Year’s Eve on his own while his family was asleep.
"I’m doing a quiet countdown," he wrote.
"I used to cry about not being able to celebrate like everyone else," he continued. "But growing up, I realized that life is about appreciating what’s already here."
Benedict also said he joined the "12 grapes under the table" tradition to wish for "longer life for my loved ones and genuine happiness for the people around me."
"Tsaka love life," he said. "Joke lang talaga 'yun 'di ko kailangan ng partner."
According to the trend, finishing 12 grapes in the first minute of the year will lead to good fortune in the year ahead.
But according to Feng Shui consultant Johnson Chua, this practice has no historical basis in Feng Shui.
Benedict revealed on social media that he is a father in May 2024. The content creator has been happily posting about his son Aleck, whom he fondly calls Bao-bao.
