Feng shui master says 2026 is a year marked by extremes

Architect and feng shui master Ka Kuen Chua described 2026 as one marked by extremes and calling for balance, caution, and responsibility.

On Thursday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Chua described 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse, as a highly combustible year due to the dominance of fire elements, strengthened by wood and lacking water.

"We have to stay safe. We have to not act impulsively. Mag-isip tayo. Tatlo ang apoy at dalawang wood nagpapalakas sa apoy, and walang katiting na tubig. So this year, 2026 Year of the Fire Horse, the luckiest color for us is water. Blue," he said.

To balance the excess fire energy, Chua advised incorporating water elements at home, particularly clean and flowing water.

"And 2026 is a year of extremes, so with so much fire, we have to be careful kasi you have to balance it. And what to use para maging balance, gagamitin natin tubig. 'Yung running water, fountain, o aquarium, you can put it sa gitna ng bahay, center ng bahay. It should be clean. Malinis na tubig. Kung pwede lagyan mo ng isda para maging malinis," he said.

Asked about the country's outlook after the challenges of 2025, Chua said 2026's extreme nature also applies to nations.

"As I said na kanina na year 2026 is a year of extreme. So extremely good or extremely bad, it will depend on those people who is running the country. So we have to be responsible sa ating mga action. And we as citizenry should take action into this. 'Yung responsibilidad nila sa ating bayan dapat gawin nila para maeradicate itong systematic corruption," he said.

Looking at the Flying Stars Chart, Chua noted that the Philippines falls under Southeast Asia, which is associated with the number nine star.

"So we are looking at the positive ending. So magiging happy ending as we expect," he said.

Year of the Rat

For those born in the Year of the Rat (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020), Chua said luck will mostly come in the form of unexpected gains, particularly in business.

"Maswerte. Windfall luck ang classification sa mga Year of the Rat," he said. "Ang pag-ibig, medyo so-so lang. Pero, at least, ang kanilang windfall, ang suwerte sa business ay ibang-iba."

Health-wise, Rats were advised to be more cautious.

"Nakaupo po sila against sa horse. Every year, 'yung bawat zodiac, Year of the Horse, may kakontra. Unfortunately, ang kakontra ng horse is the rat. So, you have to stay safe, medyo ingat lang sa kalusugan."

Year of the Ox

Those born in the Year of the Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021) are among the luckier signs in 2026, particularly in love, education, and career.

"Meron silang romance and literary star. Romance, maswerte po sila sa pag-ibig. And literary, maswerte po sila sa edukasyon. Sa mga nag-aaral, they can harvest a lot of scholarship. Lots of success," he said.

Year of the Tiger

For the Year of the Tiger (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022), Chua said their luck is almost the same as the Ox because both signs fall in the northeast sector.

"So ang luck nila halos the same. But mas lamang konti ang tiger kasi nandun 'yung deity star. So may goddess sa heaven na naka-protect sa kanya. So maswerte mga tiger this year sa 2026."

Year of the Rabbit

Those born in the Year of the Rabbit (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023) can expect strong leadership energy and opportunities for success.

"Year of the rabbit has the general star. General star, ibig sabihin maganda ang kanyang leadership. So if your leadership is good, you harvest a lot of things of success. So, masuwerte at ang mga rabbit persons, surrounded sila by two auspicious star. So, they have to take advantage. Strike the iron while it's hot, kilos nang kilos para ma-harvest natin 'yung success. Magsipag. Ang rabbit this year is super lucky. Kasi napalibutan siya ng mga lucky stars."

Year of the Dragon

For the Year of the Dragon (1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024), Chua identified them as one of the two luckiest signs of 2026.

"This year of all the 12 signs, two lucky signs, one of them is dragon. The two luckiest is dragon and snake because dragon and snake is in southeast. They are the superstars for this 2026," he said.

Year of the Horse

Those born in the Year of the Horse (1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014) were urged to be extra careful this year.

"Unfortunately, nandon sa kanya ang three killings. So ang three killings, pag nakaupo ang three killings sa isang zodiac sign, those people belong to that sign, kailangan medyo mag-iingat kasi maraming negative things darating," he said.

Year of the Sheep

For the Year of the Sheep (1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015), Chua warned of possible financial losses and security issues.

"Here southwest nandito 'yung money loss or burglary star. So the sheep and the monkey has the same star. So medyo hawig yung kanila. So for the year ng sheep, they have to be careful sa burglary," he said.

"The year of the sheep, although may burglary star siya, meron din siyang golden deity. So may heaven's luck din siya. So hindi ganon kasama. Nabalanse. Ingat sa mga scamming. 'Wag masyadong magpahiram ng pera."

Year of the Rooster

Those born in the Year of the Rooster (1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) may experience conflicts in 2026.

"Ang Year of the Rooster, nandon sa kanya ang star number three which is quarrelsome star. 'Pag nandiyan ang quarrelsome star usually may mga kaso, mga away, lawsuit. So medyo stay cool lang this year. Steady lang. Pero ang sa kanyang success luck is very strong this coming 2026."

Year of the Dog

For people born in the Year of the Dog (1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018), Chua emphasized the importance of health.

"People born under the year of the dog also the year of the boar, mas sakitin this year. So take necessary rest. Have enough sleep, eat properly," he said. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
