Returning to work after a long holiday? Let 'Dogshow Divas' motivate you
Returning to work after a long break from Christmas and New Year's Day can bring a sense of dread, especially after an extended period of not doing anything work-related.
But as adults with responsibilities, we have no choice but to get back out there and fulfill our duties. And just in case you need a little motivation before a full workweek ahead, hear it from Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs of the viral podcast "Dogshow Divas."
For Macoy, sticking to your "why" is a great motivator as you jump-start your return to work.
"At the end of the day, you have goals to follow, so for me it's simple: commitment," he told GMA News Online.
"Be committed to your goals, be committed to your financial plans, be committed to your family, [and] to your plans in general," he added.
Meanwhile, Baus said that committing to going back to work also involves "pacing yourself."
"Kung tinatamad ka sa first week of January, OK lang naman, hanapin mo 'yung groove mo," he said.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves na during the first work week of the year, you wanna be so productive, but it's a marathon, not a sprint," he added.
Baus also reminded workers that they can always hit the pause button—or take a break—whenever things get overwhelming.
Macoy and Baus are the comedic duo behind the "Dogshow Divas" podcast, which went viral in 2025 for its satirical humor and unfiltered, raw conversations between two friends.
Among the highlights of the podcast are pondering the correct pronunciation of Ely Buendia's last name, Metro Manila malls, and Filipino corporate life. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
