Donna Pangilinan-Simpao, physician and educator, passes away at 55

Donna Pangilinan-Simpao, a physician, educator, and author, has passed away. She was 55.

On Instagram, her brother, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, mourned her passing, sharing a photo of them together.

“I will truly miss these tight hugs my bunsoy,” he wrote. “Dad now has an amazing, loving, dedicated and selfless attending physician in Heaven.

“You fought the Good fight, Donna. I will love you forever. Rest in peace my little sister,” he added, as he expressed condolences to her husband Gilbert and her children Vince, Marco, Raya, and Gino.

 

Sharon Cuneta also shared a message of mourning, describing the loss of a sister as one of the hardest experiences to endure.

“Losing a beloved sister is one of the hardest things to have to deal with. As my small family mourns her passing, our hearts also go out (much more) to Donna’s husband, Gilbert, and their four children. Please pray for strength for us all through this most difficult time. Thank you so much,” she said of her sister-in-law. 

 

Publishing house Anvil Publishing honored Pangilinan-Simpao as one of its authors, highlighting her work as a homeschooling advocate and educator.

“A physician, educator, and homeschooling advocate, Dr. Donna devoted her life to nurturing holistic learning, healthy families, and intentional living. Through her work in education, parenting, and wellness, she guided countless Filipino families and young learners,” Anvil Publishing said.

She co-authored “The Little One’s Journal,” an activity book focused on early childhood learning.

“She will live on in every reader and learner she inspired,” the publication added.

Pangilinan-Simpao was born on July 30, 1970 and passed away on January 5.
