Marina Summers comes out as a trans woman, reveals she started transition in 2025
Marina Summers has come out as a trans woman, revealing that she began transitioning in 2025.
On X (formerly Twitter), the Filipina beauty queen shared that she has undergone Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) after years of setting aside the person she's always seen herself as.
According to the drag queen, ever since she was a child, she’s always felt feminine.
“For so many years, I poured that energy into carving a life that required me to move at full speed,” she wrote. “Becoming the person I've always seen myself as felt like something I'd get to ‘later’, something I gently pushed to the side while I tried to catch every other dream first.”
Finally, Marina decided to begin her transition last year.
"After years of questioning and pushing back, I finally made the beautiful decision to begin social transitioning early 2025," she shared.
In the same year, Marina started her HRT journey, describing it as “one of the best things that has ever happened to me.”
Only her innermost circle knew about her HRT journey because she “needed space to feel it,” Marina said.
“I chose to keep the first part of this journey with my innermost circle. It's not as if I was hiding something from the world. I just really needed space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in my own skin without the outside noise. I'm grateful I gave myself that,” she said.
“And now, I'm ready to open the door a little wider and let you all into my journey.”
Now that she has started her transition, Marina said she is happily closing her life as “Adrian” or “Yan,” and reintroduced her self as Marina.
“To everyone who knew me as Yan or Adrian, it's been amazing. But that chapter of my life is happily closed. From hereon, I'd love for you all to get to know me more as the woman I'm becoming. Hello again my friends, it's me, Marina.”
Ending her post, Marina thanked everyone for the love and support she’s been receiving.
“There's still so much to learn. I don't have everything figured out. But I do know I want to be more honest with you and myself,” Marina said.
“Thank you for the love you've shown me so far. Thank you in advance for the kindness and respect you continue to offer. This chapter means the world to me, and I'm happy to finally share it with all of you,” she added.
Marina starred in the second season of "RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World" in 2024 and finished in third place.
She was the only Asian contestant on the show, where she showcased Filipino culture all throughout.
In May 2025, Marina graced the Cannes Film Festival, making history as the first Filipina drag queen to have walked the prestigious event's red carpet.
