Sandwich to open Pixies concert in May

Sandwich is all set to open the Pixies concert in Manila on May 10 at the Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City, Karpos announced.

"One of the most influential bands in Philippine alternative rock, Sandwich brings their signature creative and high-energy performances to kick off the night," the concert organizer announced on Instagram.

Sandwich is the hitmaker behind "Sugod," "Betamax," "Two Trick Pony," and "Butterfly Carnival."

Pixies, best known for the songs, "Where is My Mind?" and "Here Comes Your Man" will also be playing in London, Manchester, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Milan to name a few key cities, to celebrate their 40th year.

Formed in Boston in 1986, Pixies is currently composed of Black Francis, Fil-Am Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and bassist Emma Richardson.

They are one of alternative music's most pioneering bands, best known for the "loud-quiet-loud" sound.

Tickets for Pixies Live in Manila go on sale on November 13 at 10 a.m. via www.tickelo.com/pixies. They are priced at P4,450.
