Dia Mate calls Reina Hispanoamericana reign 'a year of growth, connection, purpose'

Dia Mate took to Instagram to reflect on her memorable journey as Reina Hispanoamericana ahead of this year's pageant, where she will pass the crown.

The Filipina beauty queen said her year-long reign was "more fruitful and meaningful than I ever imagined."

“Beyond titles and expectations, it became a year of growth, connection, and purpose,” she wrote.

“I never imagined I would be the second Filipina to wear the crown—yet this journey proved that anything is possible. It has been both an honor and a responsibility, one that has shaped who I am today,” she added.

She also reflected on the bittersweet nature of passing on the crown.

“Lo más valioso no se ve, se siente,” Dia said. “Being a queen is not defined by a crown… it lives in the heart, in the impact we leave, and in the legacy we carry forward.”

She ended her post by writing, “Forever grateful. Forever Reina Hispanoamericana.”

Dia brought home the country’s second Reina Hispanoamericana crown after winning the international pageant in February 2025.

Aside from the title, Dia also took home the Best in National Costume award for her Ehrran Montoya dress inspired by the Baroque churches of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Philippines will be represented by Beatriz Abalajon Mclelland in the upcoming competition, which is happening on Sunday (PHT).
