‘24 Oras’ wins Best News Program at PAFTA

GMA Network's flagship newscast “24 Oras” bagged Best News Program at the first Philippine Arts, Film, and Television Awards (PAFTA) organized by the Philippine Academy of Film and Television Arts. 

Kapuso news anchor Mel Tiangco announced the good news on “24 Oras” on Friday and expressed her gratitude to the award-giving body, as well as the Kapuso viewers.

“Gusto naming magpasalamat sa Philippine Arts, Film, and Television [Awards] o PAFTA sa pagkilalang ito sa '24 Oras' bilang Best News Program. Salamat po, mga Kapuso,” Tiangco said.

Aside from “24 Oras,” Marian Rivera won Best Actress of the Year at PAFTA for her role as  Teacher Emmy in “Balota.”

Previously, “24 Oras” was also hailed the Best TV News Program at Trinity University Asia's Platinum Stallion National Media Awards 2026
