Children with cancer receive aid, gifts from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Children with cancer received aid and gifts from the GMA Kapuso Foundation under its Kapuso Cancer Champions project.

According to "24 Oras" Monday, among the beneficiaries of the project is Sam, a 10-year-old who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2023.

"Ang hirap po na isang magulang, wala ka po magawa kundi magdasal," said Roselle Estoce, Sam's mother.

Aside from Sam's chemotherapy, she also has to take medications that cost P700 a day, per the report.

"Isang sabi mo lang sa GMA Kapuso, binibigay po kaagad 'yung gamot na kailangan po nila," added Estoce.

To spread more joy and hope to the beneficiaries, the GMA Kapuso Foundation along with its sponsors also held activities to cance patients in Samar.

"Every year, GMA Kapuso Foundation takes on the cases of 15 to 20 children. 'Yan 'yung may mga iba't-ibang klaseng cancer," said GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP & COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog.

Rosa Yu, president of the Palladium Homemakers' Club, also shared that they chose to donate to the foundation due to its promising projects.

"Now we were thinking where to give the donation that it will really go to the needy. So,  GMA Kapuso ang napili namin kasi we saw all the projects that you guys make and it's so promising," shared Yu.

Volunteer doctors also held lectures for the parents of the beneficiaries.

"Kailangan magpagamot sila kasi meron phases ang treatment, kailangan masusunod yung schedule otherwise hindi sila gagaling, said Dr. Ramon Severino, a pediatric consultant at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Sam and other beneficiaries of the Kapuso Cancer Champions project are still in need of assistance. For those who wish to support them, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee.
