'Monsters, Inc. 3' in early development at Pixar – report

Ready for more Sulley and Mike adventures?

The "Monsters, Inc." franchise is reportedly getting a third installment.

The "Monsters, Inc. 3" project was revealed in a Wall Street Journal profile of Pete Docter, chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios.

Other details, including the plot, timeline, and director, are still under wraps, as the upcoming film remains in early development.

The original "Monsters, Inc." was released in 2001. The film follows James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, who work at the company Monsters, Inc., where monsters frighten children and use their screams to generate energy for their human-free city, Monstropolis.
