Heart Evangelista shared a glimpse of her charity work with various organizations in the first episode of "Heart World" Season 2.

The Global Fashion Icon paid a visit to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to spend time with the animals up for adoption.

Heart said that being with the animals is a "give and take moment."

"You're said, they're sad. You need love, they need love," she said. "Ako wala 'kong anak, pero feeling ko, may mga anak ako. And that's priceless for me."

Heart also shared that she recently adopted a cat.

"Eh wala nang nagawa si Chiz [Escudero] bilang sad ako nung day na 'yun. 'Yun 'yung mga moments ko," she said.

Heart also attended a party for the Thalassemia Kids Club, where she got to interact with the patients.

According to Mayo Clinic, thalassemia is an inherited condition that causes the body to have less hemoglobin.

"Hemoglobin is present in red blood cells and allows the red blood cells to carry oxygen. Not having enough hemoglobin or red blood cells can lead to a condition called anemia. That can make you feel tired and weak," the website said.

According to the club's president, Mitch Taisa, Heart through the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. gave a guarantee letter for the medical needs of kids with thalassemia at the National Children's Hospital.

"Heart World" airs at 9:30 p.m. every Saturday on GMA Network. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA Integrated News
