Earth Hour 2026: These establishments will go 'lights off' for the environment
Establishments across Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines are once again taking part in Earth Hour 2026.
Observed worldwide, Earth Hour is a grassroots movement that calls on individuals and communities to act on environmental issues by switching off non-essential lights for one hour from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 28.
If you're heading out during the event, here are some locations in Metro Manila where you can join the "lights off" movement and take part in eco-conscious activities:
Arcovia City
Arcovia City will host the Philippines' main Earth Hour 2026 switch-off in partnership with WWF-Philippines. Visitors are encouraged to join the symbolic lights-off activity from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Makati City
Makati City invites the public to gather at Circuit Makati Interim Park from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Earth Hour activities. Businesses across the city are also encouraged to switch off signage and non-essential lighting during the designated hour.
Ayala Malls
Ayala Malls will participate by switching off lights across its properties, reinforcing its message that small, collective actions can help create meaningful environmental impact beyond the hour.
SM Supermalls
SM Supermalls, including SM Mall of Asia, will take part in the "Give an Hour for Earth" campaign, encouraging shoppers to join the lights-off initiative either at the mall or at home.
Jollibee Group
Seventeen brands under the Jollibee Group will also switch off non-essential lights, signage, and billboards across 5,354 stores and facilities nationwide for Earth Hour 2026.
7-Eleven
7-Eleven Philippines will switch off non-essential lighting and dim signage in over 4,000 stores nationwide from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in support of Earth Hour.
Ascott Makati
Ascott Makati will host a public Earth Hour event featuring telescope viewing with Manila Street Astronomers from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., alongside live music during the switch-off hour.
