Jamie Rivera thankful to LGBT+ 'angels' who supported her early years: 'They will go to heaven'
As a gospel singer, Jamie Rivera shared her sentiments to comments saying that members of the LGBT+ community are destined for hell.
In her guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, Jamie disagreed with such claims and emphasized her gratitude and deep respect for the community.
The singer went on to recall how members of the LGBT+ community supported her throughout her early career.
"You know in my humble beginnings, Boy Navarrete did my makeup for free up until the time that I could already afford to pay. As I said earlier, Kuya Boy, you were my publicist and you didn't ask anything," she said.

She also remembered her former road managers and companions during provincial tours, many of whom were part of the community and helped ensure her safety and success.
"They protected me. So what is there to judge for if you're surrounded by angels? Sila 'yung mga tumulong sa akin," Jamie said.
"For me, they will go to heaven. That is my point of view," she added.
A popular singer in the '90s, Jamie is known for the songs "I've Fallen For You," "Heal our Land," and "Hey, It's Me."
Jamie also sang the song "Only Selfless Love" during Pope John Paul II's visit to the Philippines for the 4th World Meeting of Families in 2003.
She also played the role of Kim at the West End production of the hit Broadway Musical "Miss Saigon."
