Kara David mourns passing of pet dog after kidney disease battle
Kara David is grieving the loss of her pet dog, Kulog, who passed away after battling chronic kidney disease (CKD).
In an Instagram post, the Kapuso journalist shared that Kulog passed on peacefully after his condition worsened.
“After a hard battle with CKD, our dear Kulog has passed on peacefully. His creatinine levels shot up to 18mg equivalent to kidney failure,” she said.
She added that the dog is now reunited with his parents, Spike and Gianna, who also suffered from CKD.
“Run free Kulog. Thank you for giving us joy for the past seven years,” she said.
Kulog had been under veterinary care after being diagnosed with kidney problems linked to blood parasites.
On April 9, David asked for prayers as she updated followers on his condition.
“Our dear Kulog is sick… He is 7 years old. His kidneys are in bad shape due to 2 blood parasites,” she wrote at the time.
The following day, she said the family decided to bring him home from the veterinary clinic.
“We decided to bring home Kulog. His kidneys are severely deteriorated already. Alam naming hindi na siya magtatagal pa kaya mas mainam na iuwi na lang sya, kung saan masaya sya kapiling ng kanyang mga minamahal,” David said.
