Quezon City opens skate park, tennis courts at Quezon Memorial Circle
The Quezon City Government unveiled a skate park and public tennis courts at the Quezon Memorial Circle, expanding the city's recreational and sports facilities.
According to the city government, the 3,758-square-meter skate park represents a significant investment in youth development, active living, and inclusive public spaces.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the project highlights the city's commitment to creating safer, more inclusive, and future-ready environments where communities can grow and connect.
"We want our young people to have safe, high-quality spaces where they can stay active, express themselves, develop their talents, and build meaningful connections with others. This skatepark is more than just a sports facility—it is a public space designed for community, creativity, and opportunity," Belmonte said.
The new facility features a street-style skating course complete with rails, stairs, ledges, and other technical elements, as well as a park-style bowl designed for advanced skaters and high-performance runs. The entire skatepark was built using high-strength concrete to ensure durability, safety, and a world-class riding experience.
To promote inclusivity and safety, beginner areas are separated from sections for more experienced skaters, allowing users of varying skill levels to enjoy the space comfortably.
Additional amenities include a beginner-friendly practice bowl, a 260-seat spectator bleacher section, and PWD-accessible ramps integrated throughout the site.
For safety reasons, only skateboards and inline skates are permitted inside the skate park. Helmets are mandatory, while the use of elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards is strongly encouraged.
Meanwhile, the two new tennis courts will reinforce the city's vision of transforming the area into a premier destination for sports, wellness, and outdoor recreation.
To access the facilities, all users must complete and sign a waiver.
