A total of 4,000 individuals affected by the ashfall from Mayon Volcano in Camalig, Albay received relief goods, KN95 masks, and more from the GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan project.

According to "24 Oras" Thursday, the recent rain brought relief to Gelyn Nebres, a farmer, whose vegetable plants had been blanketed by ashfall.

"Pwede man po siyang makain kaso lang po is huhugasan talaga. 'Yung okra po namin, tumigas po 'yung ano kasi naluto ng abo," she said.

Lyra Moyo, for her part, will give the tomatoes she was able to salvage to her neighbors, as these would be a loss if she sold them.

"Kalidad po ng kamatis, tuyong-tuyo na po 'yung dahon. Ewan ko po kung mamumulaklak, naluto na po siya," she shared.

For Marivic Munda, their water source was not spared by the ashfall, even after covering it with a tarpaulin.

"Pagtapos po ng ashfall 'yung inumin po namin medyo mapakla siya tapos pinakuluan na lang po," she said.

Meanwhile, Pablo Solano, the barangay chairman of Tumpa, said that their area is within the 78-kilometer danger zone.

"Pasok po kami sa 78-kilometer danger zone. 'Pag pumasok po 'yung Alert No. 4 tsaka po kami pupunta ng evacuation," he said.

To provide aid to those affected, the GMA Kapuso Foundation, in partnership with the Universal Guardians Brotherhood in Bicol, distributed relief goods, KN95 masks, bread, and water to 4,000 individuals in Barangay Tumpa and Barangay Sua in Camalig.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa GMA Kapuso Foundation. Makaiinom na po ang mga anak ko ng malinis na tubig," said Marivic.

GMA Kapuso Foundation will continue its relief operations in areas affected by Mayon's ashfall.
