Reina Hispanoamericana to allow single mothers to compete starting 2027

Single mothers will now be eligible to compete in the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant, beginning with the 2027 edition.

The announcement was made through an official statement posted on Facebook.

"This decision marks an important step in our evolution, recognizing that beauty, leadership, preparation, and dreams know no limits," the statement read.

"Many extraordinary women have embraced the beautiful journey of motherhood while continuing to pursue their personal and professional goals," it added.

Interested candidates should be between 18 and 33 years old and must meet other requirements established by the organization.

"Because being a mother is also a symbol of strength, commitment, and greatness," the statement concluded.

In February, Beatriz McLelland represented the Philippines in the Reina Hispanoamericana 2026, ending her journey in the Top 13.

Dia Mate brought home the country's second Reina Hispanoamericana crown after winning the international pageant in 2025. Winwyn Marquez won the first in 2017.
