Content creator Lans speaks up about being pitted against other women

Lans has spoken up about being pitted against other women and content creators.

The veterinary medicine student and rising content creator posted her statement on Facebook on Tuesday, where she addressed netizens who have been using her name to criticize other women.

“’Gayahin nyo si LANS, karespe-respeto.' Maging ako po mismo ay hindi rin nakaligtas sa pambabastos, tapos sasabihin ng iba ’yan sa ibang babae? Wala rin pong sense,” Lans wrote.

“Hindi po ako masaya na may mga kapwa babae na bina-bash, kinukumpara, o minamaliit gamit ang pangalan ko."

According to Lans, women don't have to conform to a single image to be respected.

"Hindi kailangang educational creator ka, mahinhin, conservative, o tahimik para masabing ‘worthy’ kang respetuhin,” she said.

“A woman can be confident, expressive, feminine, strong, matalino, creative, o simply comfortable being herself by posting photos, dressing a certain way, or expressing themselves (ourselves) online," she added.

Lans also said that the way women dress is never an invitation for disrespect.

“Hindi babae, hindi ang aming kasuotan, ang dapat pinapabago para itrato nang maayos. Ang pagiisip po ninyo sana ang ayusin,” Lans said.

In the comments section, Lans also called out those who objectify women and told them to unfollow her.

“Sobrang nakakalungkot ang issue na ito. Sana seryosohin po nating lahat. Hindi lang po ako agad nakapagspeak-up sa sobrang busy sa school, reason di rin po ako makapagcontent consistently ngayon. Hope you understand po,” she said.

“May God bless us all with self reflection. Keep safe!” she added.

In a Facebook post on June 21, Lans had urged her followers to stop comparing and bashing other content creators.

“Iba iba po kasi ang niche natin, mapa-lifestyle man yan, skits, pranks, sports, educational, motivational/inspirational, at marami pa pong iba. May kanya-kanya pong pagkakakilanlan ang bawat isa at pinaghirapan po nila ‘yon. At sumusuporta rin po ako sa iba't ibang content creators natin, as long as wala kaming natatapakang tao,” she said.

Lans is a veterinary medicine student who posts educational content. Her signature intro goes, “This is Lans! At sa araw na ‘to…”

Lans is praised for her refreshing take on content in an online world filled with noise, and for making educational content relatable.

She currently has 4.7 million Facebook followers.
