Who is Lans? Meet the veterinary medicine student behind the viral educational videos
You may have seen her videos answering the internet’s most random questions, but who exactly is Lans?
Lans, born Louise Anne Nagal, is a 24-year-old veterinary medicine student and educational content creator who gained popularity online through her bite-sized videos that answer curious questions from netizens.
From science and animals to everyday facts, Lans creates content that aims to make information easier to understand while keeping viewers entertained.
How does Lans create her educational videos?
Before sharing her content online, Lans starts by choosing questions she wants to answer and explaining them based on her own knowledge.
She then does further research using different reliable sources, including articles, websites, and scientific studies, to verify the information, add more context, and ensure that her content is accurate before posting.
“Maghahanap po kami ng question na gusto po namin, sasagutin po namin siya based on my own knowledge. After po nu’n, ido-double check po namin online ang mga articles at websites at scientific studies,” Lans said.
Through infotainment, the combination of entertainment and factual information, Lans has become one of the educ-creators gaining recognition online, inspiring more young viewers to learn while enjoying content on social media.
Aside from creating educational videos, Lans is also a swimmer who competes in various university-level competitions.
Lans addresses comparisons and online comments
Recently, Lans spoke up after some netizens compared her to other women online.
In a Facebook post, Lans shared that women do not need to follow a single standard or image to be respected.
“A woman can be confident, expressive, feminine, strong, matalino, creative, o simply comfortable being herself by posting photos, -dressing a certain way, or expressing themselves (ourselves) online,” Lans said.
She added that a woman’s clothing should never be seen as an invitation for disrespect or harassment.
In a separate Facebook post on June 21, Lans also encouraged her followers to stop comparing and bashing other content creators.
“Iba-iba po kasi ang niche natin, mapa-lifestyle man yan, skits, pranks, sports, educational, motivational/inspirational, at marami pa pong iba. May kanya-kanya pong pagkakakilanlan ang bawat isa at pinaghirapan po nila ‘yon. At sumusuporta rin po ako sa iba't ibang content creators natin, as long as wala kaming natatapakang tao,” Lans said. —JCB, GMA News
