Miss Grand Orlando 2025 Skarlent Rodríguez dies following Venezuela earthquake

Miss Grand Orlando 2025 Skarlent Rodríguez has passed away following the earthquake that struck Venezuela.

On Instagram, Miss Grand International (MGI) announced the passing of the beauty queen, expressing its condolences to her family and to everyone affected by the disaster.

“With profound sorrow, we mourn the tragic passing of Skarlent Rodríguez, Miss Grand Orlando 2025, following the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela,” MGI said.

“We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all those affected by this heartbreaking disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Venezuela during this difficult time. May they find strength, comfort, and unity as they navigate the days ahead.”

The organization concluded its tribute by saying, "May she rest in eternal peace."

Miss Grand Florida also paid tribute to Skarlent in a series of Instagram posts, saying it was “heartbroken beyond words” by her passing.

“There are simply no words that can fully express the profound sorrow our Miss Grand Florida family is experiencing,” the organization said.

It also thanked supporters for their messages and prayers, while encouraging those who are able to contribute to a GoFundMe campaign for Rodríguez's family as they cope with the loss.

“May Skarlent's beautiful spirit and legacy live on in our hearts forever,” it added.

In a separate tribute, Miss Grand Florida remembered Skarlent for the qualities she displayed throughout her reign as Miss Grand Orlando 2025.

“Skarlent embodied elegance, kindness, strength, and grace. As a former Miss Grand Orlando, she represented the values of confidence, compassion, and empowerment that our organization proudly upholds,” the organization said.

It added that she would be remembered not only for her beauty and achievements but also for uplifting others with her “radiant smile, warm spirit, and unwavering positivity.”

Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela last month, killing almost 2,300 people and leaving more than 11,000 injured. Almost 13,000 people had been left homeless.
