In its citation, Esquire Philippines recognized Soho's decades-long impact on Philippine journalism, noting that she has "covered almost every major event in the Philippines since the mid-1980s" and has "paved the way for women and investigative journalists in the country."
The publication also highlighted the lasting influence of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS),” describing the award-winning public affairs program as a trusted platform that continues to resonate with millions of Filipinos across generations. Through her immersive, on-the-ground reporting, she has consistently highlighted systemic issues such as limited access to education and clean water.
Beyond journalism, David was also recognized for her contributions to education and humanitarian work. As chairperson of the Journalism Department at the University of the Philippines Diliman, she helps train the next generation of journalists with a strong emphasis on ethics, accountability, and public service.
The magazine likewise acknowledged David's work through the Project Malasakit Foundation, which provides scholarships, food, and medical assistance to many of the disadvantaged individuals and communities featured in her documentaries.
