EXO returns to Manila after 7 years, reunites with Filipino EXO-Ls at 'EXhOrizon'

The wait is finally over for Filipino EXO-Ls.

After seven years, EXO made its long-awaited return to the Philippine stage, kicking off the first night of its "EXhOrizon" concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday. The two-night event continues on Sunday, marking the group's first Manila concert since 2019.

The arena erupted with cheers as Suho, Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun and D.O opened the show with a string of fan-favorite hits, including "Monster," "Wolf," and "Overdose," immediately transporting fans back through the group's biggest eras.

Only five members of EXO are present, as Lay, Baekyun, Chen, and Xiumin are not able to participate in the tour due to contract issues.

During their opening ment, the members warmly greeted the audience and thanked Filipino EXO-Ls for their unwavering love and patience throughout the years.

"I know how much of you guys missed us, and I can say that we really miss you more than you did. Do you know EXO's motto? We are one. If you enjoy this concert until the end, I'm sure that when the show is over, we will be one. Really one," Suho said.

"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time and finally, EXO’s here. Enjoy the show tonight. Love you Manila," he said.

The nostalgia continued as EXO slowed things down with heartfelt performances of beloved B-sides "Walk on Memories" and "Don't Go," prompting thousands of fans to sing along from start to finish.

Throughout the concert, the group balanced explosive choreography with emotional ballads, showcasing the versatility that has made EXO one of K-pop's most influential acts for over a decade.

EXO capped off the night with an emotional encore featuring "Paradise" and "Flatline," leaving the crowd with a memorable send-off and reminding Filipino fans why the group's music has continued to resonate across generations.
