PHLPost brings back old-school letter writing at this year's Manila Coffee Festival
In this day and age of text messaging and quick phone calls, it is now rare to send a physical letter by mail to our loved ones. Now that we can remain in touch with a few clicks of our fingers, we have chosen the convenience of chat apps instead of waiting for days or weeks for a piece of paper to arrive.
However, letters tend to be more personal and serve as physical keepsakes of somebody's love and care. People appreciate handwritten notes and messages thoughtfully constructed, like the way we romanticize love letters.
If you have ever wondered what it's like to actually send a letter, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will let you experience it at the Manila Coffee Festival from July 17 to 19 at Mega Trade Hall of SM Megamall.
The country's postal service will have a booth at the event, where guests can write and send their letters to loved ones in the Philippines and around the world. You can enjoy a cup of coffee as you put pen to paper.
You can also create your own postage stamp with a selfie or a favorite photo which you can take home as a souvenir or collectible.
Those who need a valid government-issued identification card can also apply for a Postal ID.
Meanwhile, stamp enthusiasts can buy from a selection of commemorative and regular postage stamps, first day covers, souvenir sheets, postcards, and other products that celebrate Philippine history, culture, heritage, and significant national milestones.
Whether you're a coffee lover, a stamp collector, or aspiring letter writer, or simply looking to apply for a Postal ID, the PHLPost booth offers a memorable experience of sending messages that travel across the country or around the world the old-fashioned way. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
