Reina Filipinas-MGI All Stars queens: Who is Alexie Caimoso Brooks?

Alexie Caimoso Brooks is one of the two queens crowned Reina Filipinas-MGI All Stars during the inaugural Reina Filipinas pageant on Friday night.

From representing Iloilo to winning an international crown, Alexie has built a diverse career in pageantry and sports.

Here are five things to know about Alexie:

1. She is an Ilongga beauty

Alexie represented Iloilo at the inaugural Reina Filipinas pageant.

Before competing in Reina Filipinas, Alexie had already made history as the first Black, androgynous Ilonggo woman to represent Iloilo in a pageant.

In a 2024 Instagram post, she reflected on that milestone and thanked her team, mentors, sponsors, friends, family, and the people of Leon, Iloilo for supporting her journey.

“From my lowest moments to the pinnacle of joy, this journey has been nothing short of a miracle,” she wrote.

2. She is Miss Eco International 2025

Alexie won the Miss Eco International 2025 crown during the pageant's grand coronation night at the Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria, Egypt.

She also finished first runner-up in the talent competition, placed 10th in the Resort Wear round, and sixth in the Eco Wear competition.

3. She is an athlete

Before making her mark in pageantry, Alexie was already a decorated athlete.

She competed in track and field, winning medals throughout her athletic career. She graduated from National University, which she also represented in the UAAP.

Alexie also represented the Philippines at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games.

4. She embraces her androgynous identity

Alexie has been open about expressing herself as an androgynous woman and embracing freedom and authenticity in the way she presents herself.

During a 2025 appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she spoke about how her style can change depending on how she feels.

“I express myself as an androgynous woman or person. So, basically, if I feel like, I wake up in the morning and I feel like dressing up as masculine, I go for it. I have days that I feel like very feminine and I literally go for it,” she said.

5. She was very close to her late grandmother

Alexie has often spoken about her close relationship with her late grandmother, Lola Basing, who died in September 2024.

In 2025, while competing at Miss Eco International, Alexie dedicated an emotional birthday message to her grandmother on Instagram.

“Lola, happy birthday. God, I miss you so much it hurts. I miss everything about you. Every day. Your voice, your presence, the way you made everything feel okay,” she wrote.

Alexie said she continues to carry her grandmother in her heart and promised to keep living by the values she taught her.

Her grandmother helped raise Alexie while her mother worked as an overseas Filipino worker in Lebanon. —JCB, GMA News
