Lovi Poe shares why she doesn't show her daughter's face online
Lovi Poe opened up on why she does not show her daughter's face online.
On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, the actress said that it is "what works for us at the moment" because of the nature of the internet and privacy.
"But it's a discussion that me and my husband, we're having that now because like eventually, it'll be nice to share this beautiful treasure that we have. And maybe in the future," she said.
Lovi also shared that they named their baby Sloane, which means "warrior." She added that she and her husband had a list of names, but nothing clicked for both of them, except Sloane.
"I want her to grow up thinking that she's a fighter and she's a tough cookie," Lovi said.
Lovi also looked back on her birth story. When asked if she wanted to hold her baby after delivery, she declined as she was still "very groggy." She also had pre-eclampsia and was in labor for 30 hours.
"I didn't wanna hold her and have that first moment and not feel it fully," Lovi said.
"My husband got a little sad when I said, 'I think not right now, maybe give it a few hours.' Then a few hours, when I saw her, and it's not like in the movies where it's instant, but then your mother instinct, it hits you suddenly," she said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Lovi said she had a lot of questions about caring for her child, but she was told to relax by the nurse.
"That's where you see the mother's instinct, it's so different," she said.
Days later while Lovi was looking at Sloane, she had a rush of emotions.
"The certain love that you can't even explain. Parang this is no joke—now I know exactly what love means," Lovi said. "I've been singing so many songs and have fallen in love with so many things, but this is different."
Sloane is now 11 months old. The baby is currently in the United States, so Lovi has been pumping breast milk for her.
Lovi is married to Monty Blencowe. They tied the knot in 2023 and welcomed Sloane last year. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
