Jaja Santiago, Dindin Santiago get candid about dating short men

How do volleyball stars Jaja and Dindin Santiago feel about dating men shorter than them?

On Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the Santiago sisters got candid about their experiences dating men who are shorter than them.

Jaja stands at 6’3”, while Dindin is 6’2”.

According to Dindin, she experienced men being hesitant to approach her because of her height.

“They didn't want to get close to me because of my height," she began in Filipino. "There were times when they'd say, ‘you're too tall.’ It’s like they feel embarrassed when we’re next to them.”

Jaja, meanwhile, shared she actually had a boyfriend who was shorter than her.

"I was still in high school when I had a boyfriend who was shorter than me. It's kind of difficult to have a smaller boyfriend," Jaja said in Filipino.

According to Jaja, there were times when she wanted to lean on her partner's shoulder but the height difference not only made it difficult but also awkward.

Despite the challenges brought by their height difference, Jaja said that love ultimately matters more.

“I think if you love someone, it doesn’t matter if they’re tall or short. It's going to be okay,” she said.

Dindin also revealed that she once dated a shorter man who played libero in volleyball.

“I also had a boyfriend who was short, a libero. So he was small. I was usually the one hugging him. I didn’t hold hands with him either,” she said.

Dindin is now married to volleyball coach Chico Manabat while Jaja is married to Japanese volleyball coach Takayuki Minowa. — LA, GMA News
