Beauty Gonzalez shared her thoughts on age gaps in relationships, saying age has never been a major factor for her when choosing a partner.

In an interview on “Your Honor,” the actress talked about her relationship with her husband, Norman Crisologo, who is 25 to 26 years older than her.

According to Beauty, she has always been attracted to older men because she prefers having conversations with someone she can learn from, adding that she has also dated men her age but found that she connected better with older partners.

She recalled meeting Norman after he saw her on the cover of a magazine and asked a mutual friend, Ellen Adarna, to introduce them.

Beauty said she did not initially know his age and only discovered it after seeing his driver's license, which he had left behind a week into their acquaintance.

“I didn't know he was that old. His vibe and the way he carries himself made me feel like I was actually the older one between us because I go to sleep at 8 or 9 p.m. and wake up at 4 or 5 a.m., while he still goes out partying. I didn't see him as someone his age. If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have noticed,” Beauty said in Filipino and English.

Beauty also recalled that her mother initially had reservations about their relationship and asked Norman questions about his intentions, including whether he could provide for her daughter.

However, she said Norman managed to reassure her mother, who also asked about his previous marriage and requested documents and a prenuptial agreement.

The actress likewise weighed in on the public discussion surrounding age-gap relationships, including the relationship between Apple David, 33, and Chad Gamad, 18.

Beauty said people should allow couples to make their own decisions while emphasizing the importance of teaching men to respect women.

“For me, an 18-year-old guy is already old enough. He's already grown and knows what he's doing. I mean, whatever works for them, but I think the girl knows what she's getting into. Just give them the space and time to figure things out on their own. Let them live their lives because life is short. Why interfere in other people's lives? Mind your own business,” she said.

She added that society should not place the responsibility of learning how to behave in relationships solely on women, but should also teach men how to respect women, communicate properly, and give them space.

Beauty and Norman tied the knot in 2017. They have one child together named Olivia.
