Jaclyn Jose on what she's learned being lola to Ellie: 'I need to let go of Andi'

Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose may be taking tough roles, but it's a different ballgame all together when it comes to being a lola to Ellie.

"I'm really maarte in real life. Sa palabas lang hindi, pero in real life, 'Ohhh baby,' 'Why did you fall? Are you okay?' Maarte akong lola," Jaclyn told GMA News Online in an exclusive interview during her renewal of contract in GMA Network.

For Jaclyn there's always this indescribable feeling inside her heart when she comes home to see her Ellie.

"There's a certain difference— it's the same love but there's, I don't know, it's in my heart eh, I just feel it. When I'm with my granddaughter, when I'm at home and I'm seeing her, there's this kurot in my heart that I cannot explain, lalo na si Ellie, she's so nice, she's so lambing," she said.

She said one of the lessons she has learned from being a grandmother is to let go of her daughter Andi Eigenmann and allow her do things on her own.

"I need to let go of Andi, because she's at the age na, she knows what she's doing. She can take care of herself na and her daughter; she's doing well in taking care of her daughter," she said.

Jose also said that she has learned to give Andi the freedom to deal with her own life and avoid having fights and arguments with her, so she can spend time with her granddaughter.

"Huwag kong pakialaman ang kanyang buhay para mahiram ko si Ellie. Kaya hindi na talaga ako makikipagaway kay Andi, para mahiram ko si Ellie, hirap 'pag galit 'yun."
