Charlene Gonzalez pays tribute to stepfather ‘Uncle Pete’

On Friday, June 1, Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach wrote a somber note celebrating the life of her stepfather, Pepito “Pete” Vera-Perez.

"I fondly call him Uncle Pete. Although he was not technically my uncle, he was not only my stepfather. He was the father figure in my life and a great inspiration," Charlene shared with her followers.

Although she was not his biological daughter, Charlene said that her Uncle Pete and his family treated her and her brothers as their own. For this, she said, she will always be grateful to the Vera-Perez family.

"From the time I was 3 years old to the time I got married, till now. Thank you for the love and kindness. Uncle Pete helped my mom guide me, loved my brother and I through the years," Charlene said.

I fondly call him Uncle Pete. Although, he was not technically my uncle.. He was not only my stepfather.. He was the father figure in my life and a great inspiration.. I was not his biological daughter but he and his family treated me & my brother like their own. I will always be truly grateful to the Vera Perez family.. One of the families I knew growing up & continues to have a great influence in my life. From the time I was 3 years old to the time I got married, till now. Thank you for the love and kindness.. Uncle Pete helped my mom guide me, loved my brother & I through the years. Unfortunately, 8 years ago we lost him due to a severe stroke and that was the last time he could understand us. It still hurts today, to physically loose him forever in our lives. He was such a free spirited person, with such a kind heart. I know he is roaming freely and happily in heaven now. We truly miss you Uncle Pete.. ???? Thank you for being a father to me & my brother!! You will forever be in our hearts.. We love you very very very much !!! May you Rest In Peace..???????? ????????Uncle Pete.. ????????
