New year's resolution suggestion from ‘Boyet’: Magpakatotoo, umamin kay crush?

Just like the viewers of the hit show "My Special Tatay", Kapuso star Ken Chan is learning from his character Boyet.

"Bilang ako, bilang si Ken Chan, ang dami kong natutunan kay Boyet personally na ma-i-aapply ko ngayong bagong taon," Ken told GMA News Online during an interview on Tuesday. 

Ken said that he feels like Boyet can double as a love doctor because he knows so much about the topic. "Si Boyet kasi, mapagmahal siya na tao. Pure 'yong love niya, hindi siya plastic," the actor said. 

Confess your feelings

According to Ken, one of the most important things he learned from Boyet is to treasure the love you feel and express it without fear. 

"Sa pagmamahal sa special someone mo, huwag kang maghehesitate na sabihin sa kaniya na mahal mo siya," Ken said.

He added, "Kung naramdaman mo na mahal mo siya... kung sure ka na at naramdaman mo na 'yong tibok ng puso mo para doon sa isang tao na 'yon... right away, sabihin mo na kaagad na mahal mo siya. Huwag ka nang mag-aksaya ng oras, kasi ayaw natin magsayang ng panahon at taon."

True love

However, Ken cautioned against professing love for someone without being sure that you actually feel that pure emotion for her or him. "Magiging malungkot 'yong buong buhay mo kung hindi ka naman pala sure sa nararamdaman mo," he said. 

And what has Boyet taught him about avoiding this lonely situation? 

"Magmahal nang totoo. 'Yon naman talaga ang susi sa lahat e, para tumagal ang relationship at para sabihin natin na 'may forever,'" Ken said. 

"Kapag nagmahal ka nang totoo, kahit one-sided lang 'yong love pero alam mo sa sarili mo na nagmahahal ka nang totoo at totoo ang nararamdamam mo sa isang tao, hindi ka lugi. Panalo ka do'n," he declared.
