Miriam Quiambao asks for prayers as she 'might give birth to a preemie'

Former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao asked for prayers as she announced that she might "give birth to a preemie."

Her husband Andy Robert posted the news on his Facebook account on Saturday with photos of Miriam showing off her baby bump.

In the caption he said Miriam is on her 34th week of her delicate pregnancy and she might have to do an emergency cesarean delivery if their ultrasound won't look better this week.

Miriam explained that their Perinatologist, "says my placenta is still thickened and getting 'older' and calcified. This means that it’s getting harder and further obstructing blood flow of nutrition and oxygen of the baby."

Miriam said it has resulted to her baby being small for his age, "about two weeks behind in terms of growth."

"If this progresses, the oxygen flow might be compromised and it might direct all the oxygen to the brain to preserve the baby at the expense of other bodily organs like the kidney.  His head has descended further down and my cervix is getting shorter," she added.

She then announced that she might give birth to a "preemie" and asked for prayers for his Baby Elijah to last until full term.

"There a chance I might give birth to a preemie. Please pray that he lasts until full term or at least 37-38 weeks upon delivery and that the Lord will create a miracle and sustain my baby Elijah without any damage until he is born. Thank you so much for your prayers!"

Their friends sent them similar success stories and words of encouragement to give them strength.
