In the genealogy that can be seen inside the "Lolo Jose: An Intimate and Illustrated Portrait of Jose Rizal" book written by Rizal's grandniece, Asuncion Lopez Bantug it shows that Therese is one of the descendants of Rizal.

In an interview on GMA News Online's "Conversations" series, Therese said Rizal is her great great uncle, while General Miguel Malvar is her great great grandfather.

She said one of General Malvar's son married one of Rizal's sisters.

Now we know where she's getting all the talent and knowledge from.

Just recently Therese won as the Actress of the Year in Laguna Excellence Award, she was also the Best Supporting Actress for the 17th Gawad Tanglaw Awards in the movie School Service.

Therese stars as Ariela in the GMA afternoon drama series "Inagaw Na Bituin" with Kyline Alcantara. — LA, GMA News
