LJ Reyes turns emotional as firstborn, Aki, turns 9

LJ Reyes couldn't help but be emotional as her firstborn, Ethan Akio, turns 9 years old.

In an Instagram post, LJ gave Aki a touching birthday greeting which she kicked off with a poem.

Today you turned 9. Never really did realize how much time could just fly by! It will be the last year I will write your age in a single digit. And now I don’t know how to do it. As I scroll down my photos to see what photo of you represents this year, I couldn’t help but see how much you’ve grown — something I don’t wanna hear! I don’t know why but I’ve taken a lot of photos of you looking out and away! And seeing them, He whispered to me that it is really time to let you go as a kid. That I really have to prepare you set out your journey in life. But I will always be here right behind you — to catch you, to hold you, to support you, to watch you. I am so blessed baby that you were given to me — as my son, as my firstborn. You have taught me so much Aki! You have been my strength and my weakness! For so long it has always been you and me! Sometimes it scares me because it feels like I’m losing time with you. All I wanna do is hug you as tight as I could and kiss you as much as I could! Sorry for all the parties I will miss, friend I won’t see, meetings and work I will delay. Because I would very much like to just take it in — (you know) when your child still needs you. When he comes home from school and he comes running to you! When something hurts and tells nobody but you! When he says that he still wants to spend so much more time with you! I would choose those moments over and over, Aki! Thank you for the 9 years of happiness! May God bless you and keep you! Blessed birthday my love!?? mahal na mahal na mahal kita!!!!

LJ said she noticed that she's taken a lot of photos of Aki looking out and away.

"And seeing them, He whispered to me that it is really time to let you go as a kid. That I really have to prepare you set out your journey in life," she wrote.

Aki is LJ's child with Paulo Avelino, who in past interviews said that he is sure to make time for his son.

Still, LJ raised Aki as a single mom. In an earlier post she recalled being so exhausted and crushed to the point of tears, but she still had to be put together for her son.

Despite this, she said that the past nine years were filled with happiness.

"You have taught me so much Aki! You have been my strength and my weakness! For so long it has always been you and me! Sometimes it scares me because it feels like I’m losing time with you," LJ said.

"I would choose those moments over and over, Aki! Thank you for the 9 years of happiness!" she added.
