Vodka, beer, no regrets: This cute couple got back together because of a drinking game

It was a drinking game featured on YouTube that brought Roanne Carreon and Tina Boado back together, eight months after their break-up.

The pair were seen in the video laughing and joking with each other while drinking shots of beer. Things got a bit serious when Roanne asked Tina if she still loved her, to which the latter eventually replied yes.

Interestingly, it was also through drinking that the Roanne and Tina had met in 2017.

The two had known each other during their college days in 2014, but it was because of two chance encounters at different bars that their relationship blossomed, according to Susan Enriquez's i-Juander segment.

Tina, who first saw Roanne on a dating app, chanced upon her at a bar. The two saw each other again at another bar.

It was only then when Tina mustered up enough courage to talk to Roanne, who had a secret crush on her.

Since then, the two became very close, and eventually became live-in partners a year later.

But their relationship was not always smooth-sailing.

Tina was struggling with telling her family about her gender. When she and Roanne were starting out, she was shy to hold her girlfriend's hand in public.

"Nung nagstart kami ni Tina nung 2017, hesitant pa si Tina hawakan ang aking kamay sa public ganyan. Tapos hindi pa siya ready na sabihin sa kahit friends niya. Eventually naman, nadevelop niya ang confidence niya sa sarili niya," said Roanne.

Roanne also shared that their relationship was tested when she experienced episodes of major depressive disorder.

Although Tina tried her best to help and understand her, it was very difficult to do this when she took up a Masters degree and found herself having less time for Roanne.

As a result, Roanne who would often experience bouts of depression, complained and got mad at Tina- who admitted that she couldn't be an understanding partner because she had a lot of exams, projects, papers and deadlines to fulfill during that time.

In the i-Juander report, the couple agreed that their relationship became toxic. They started fighting every day for a month until Roanne decided to call it quits.

"Ang hirap ng break-up kasi hindi siya dahil, hindi niyo na mahal ang isa't isa pero iyon nga, naging toxic lang siya, naging rocky ang relationship," Tina said.

It took eight months before they saw each other again in a casting call for a drinking game for exes.

Roanne invited Tina to the drinking game, and they were featured in a vlog on YouTube. During the game, it was revealed that Tina still had feelings for Roanne.

After the game, they were reunited again. Since then, they travelled around the world with each other, fulfilling their travel bucket list. Tina and Roanne officially got back together during their trip to Bali, which is why they anecdotally called it, "The Balikan Trip."

According to them, they were able to grow into better people and better partners for each other during the time that they were apart.

"Sa tingin namin, ngayon na nagkabalikan kami, kaya na naman. Kasi nagmature na kami individually," said Tina.

Right now, her family is slowly accepting her gender and her choices. —Angelica Y. Yang/JST, GMA News
