Alessandra de Rossi asks prayers for dad in Italy and mom who's flying from Canada to join him

Alessandra de Rossi took to Instagram to ask for prayers for her father who is currently in Italy, the country that has registered most deaths due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

"Father's day pala sa Italy ngayon! My pepito, please stay locked in your home. Please help me pray for Italy," Alessandra wrote in the caption of her post.

Alex shared that her mom will also be flying back to Italy from Canada and asked for prayers for the both of them.

 

"Salamat sa lahat ng may oras magpray with me! Much appreciated may God bless us all!" she added.

According to a report on Reuters, the death toll from COVID-19 in Italy has leapt by 793 to 4,825 on Saturday. It saw an increase of 19.6%, by far the largest daily rise in absolute terms since the contagion emerged a month ago.

The total number of cases in Italy rose to 53,578 from a previous 47,021, an increase of 13.9%, the Civil Protection Agency said.

Last March 10, Reuters reported that Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte placed the whole of Italy under lockdown until next month. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
