Ruby Rodriguez bids farewell to sister Dr. Sally Gatchalian after battle with COVID-19

Ruby Rodriguez bid a heart-wrenching farewell to her older sister Dr. Sally Gatchalian who succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The "Eat Bulaga" host wrote her a message on her Instagram, where she shared a photo from their last Christmas as a whole family.  Dr. Sally can be seen smiling with her siblings on the couch.

“My sister, Manang sally, this is our Christmas 2019 family picture. Finally were complete,” Ruby said in the caption.

Ruby said they will only remember her with happy memories, like "your johnson outfits and all, how u love bling bling, your Kuaff hair everday, your Kdrama addiction ( u got me hooked up too) i will make u kwento what i have seen last, our sunday lunches, our "bonding trips" that you and I only do( other siblings kasi nasa US)."

“I love you so much my big sister (heart emojis) smile say hi to Mom Dad and manong robert. Be at peace do not worry about us anymore. Have fun in heaven! Love you so much!!!” she added.

Dr. Sally, the president of the Philippine Pediatric Society, is the 9th doctor to pass away in the Philippines after testing positive for COVID-19.

Last week, Ruby said her sister was confined at a hospital. "She is weak but stable," the actress wrote on Twitter.

As of Wednesday, the number of infections in the Philippines has reached 636, with 38 deaths.

The number of recoveries has reached 26, while 704 have tested negative for the disease.
