KC Concepcion on breakup with Piolo in 2011: 'I regret that we had to end'

KC Concepcion had quite the revelations in a live Instagram chat with entertainment editor G3 San Diego on Monday.

Aside from talking about her career, KC also talked about her controversial relationship with actor Piolo Pascual.

KC did not hesitate to answer and explained that she's gonna talk about it "because he has been a part of my life and this kind of conversation really helps people get to know me more and of course part naman talaga yun ng buhay ko and that's my truth."

According to KC, Piolo visited the set of her movie with Richard Gutierrez and it struck her how how Piolo had a "halo" about him.

"Sabi ko, ‘Para siyang may halo. Parang may light.’ I remember that. So parang at that time, na-realize ko tinamaan pala ako. 'Yun pala 'yon,” she said.

KC said her relationship with Piolo "was very real for me. That was like my first announced relationship." 

KC added, there is "a reason why we ended up together."

The actress said she and Piolo had to announce their breakup because they also admitted to being official. Besides, they didn't want it to interfere with their work.

“People know naman that it was very real for me. I was so young and naïve. It was announced publicly, that’s why it also had to be announced in public when it ended,” she said.

“I can’t pretend. I cannot act on set. I cannot act like we are together, just to sell something. I was also very honest with myself at that time and I just said there’s no way I could continue to work with him,” she added.

When G3 asked if she had regrets having to reveal their breakup publicly, she said, "I regret that we had to end."

"I think that in any relationship, you really have faith in it and you go into it not thinking that you want to end it. You go into it thinking that you want it," she said.

She said despite their breakup, she and Piolo have remained civil to each other.

"As with any breakup, you cannot be best friends with an ex. We are civil, we are OK, she said.

During one of their shows in London, KC said they had their little quality time. "and it was a really funny, nice catch-up after everything."

"He asked if we could talk and without saying too much, we were able to talk a little bit,” she narrated.

“He knows that I know him. He knows that I care for him ,for who he truly is. He knows that I will always be watching him from afar,” she said.

KC said their relationship taught her that "we all go through things in life."

"Whatever you go through, you will bring into the relationship that you have.

"So you have to make peace with the things you went through before, before you go into a relationship kasi kung hindi, bitbit mo 'yun,” she said.

KC and Piolo ended their relationship in 2011.
